Empired managing director, Russell Baskerville, said today the DEECD contract was significant for the company, and further demonstrated its “commitment to its expansion in Victoria, and nationally.” According to Baskerville, Empired secured the contract against strong competition, “referencing its success and experience in the WA State Government sector.” The three-year contract is structured as an initial period of one year with two one-year options. According to Baskerville, the DEECD contract brings the total contracts secured in Victoria by the company over the last nine months to more than $5 million, following the recent commencement of managed services for Australian gold producer and mineral explorer, St Barbara Limited. Baskerville said that several other multi-million dollar contracts are expected to be announced in coming weeks. “We are delighted to be awarded this contract by DEECD, one of the largest Victorian Government departments in the state. Our demonstrated success in the WA State government sector was pivotal to being awarded the contract which not only increases Empired’s Victorian profile but further enhances our state government credentials. “On the back of this win Empired will significantly increase staffing levels in Victoria and actively pursue a number of other Victorian State Government IT outsourcing contracts.” |
