Acronis Delivers Industry’s First Backup & Recovery Software Optimised For Booming Netbook Market E-mail
Tuesday, 06 October 2009
Acronis is releasing today the first backup and recovery software optimised for netbooks’ screen size and unique hardware configuration. Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition features the Acronis’ patented disk-imaging technology and bare metal restore technologies.

Acronis True Image Netbook Edition is the latest addition to the award-winning Acronis True Image portfolio, following the release of Acronis True Image Home 2010. Designed for the booming netbook market, Acronis True Image Netbook Edition delivers the flexibility of where and how often to backup netbooks. From its intuitive graphical interface, users can back up their entire disk locally and to any attached device. One-Click Protection and powerful scheduler allow users to simply create and automate regular backups.

Acronis True Image Home Netbook Edition supports Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP Home and XP Professional operating systems and requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024x600. The new software supports netbooks that use Intel’s Atom 230, 330, N270, N280, Z500, Z510, Z520, Z530, and Z540 chips or the VIA C7-M chip.

Bill Taylor-Mountford, General Manager of Acronis Australia and New Zealand said: “With more and more people using netbooks for convenience on the go, backing up netbooks becomes a necessity. As backup experts, we understand that netbook backups require the same level of reliability and flexibility as normal PCs, they also have unique requirements due to the hardware limitations. Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition is specifically designed and configured to ensure netbook users are also protected with the best technology.”

“By delivering the first-ever netbook-optimised backup and recovery software, Acronis is continuing its pledge to develop industry-leading solutions,” said Jason Donahue, CEO of Acronis. “The netbook market is growing rapidly and netbook users deserve the award-winning power of our disk-imaging technology.”

Pricing and availability

Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition, priced at $39.99, can be downloaded from www.acronis.com.au. This Edition is also available with optional online backup in select countries. A further announcement about its general availability in Australia and New Zealand will be made at a later date.
