Mobile content provider, Hyro Ltd (ASX:HYO), has announced the roll out of a weather channel mobile service over Telstra i-mode and 3G.

The service will provide Telstra i-mode 2.5G, i-mode 3G and Active 3G users with weather information such as daily breaking weather videos, access to severe weather warnings, international weather and leisure reports. The service wil also allow users to personalise their experience, by entering their postcode, enablinglocalised weather reports to be sent to their mobile.

The Weather Channel i-mode and 3G experience for the customer is simple, fast and intuitive with key pad driven navigation to a wide range of weather information as and when it is relevant to their lifestyle.Ӕ says Hyros wireless and broadcast director, Chris Flintoft.

ғWe see the mobile phone as an important extension of our channels to market. Weather is a desirable service to access on the move. Launching our service on Telstra i-mode and Telstra Active 3G enables customers to interact with the brand whilst away from our broadcast on subscription television through FOXTEL and AUSTAR and web, said Tara King, general manager, The Weather Channel.
