The founding members include BBC.com, BigPond, Firelight, ninemsn, Viocorp, Vodafone Hutchison Australia and Yahoo!7. The Group is chaired by Adam Furness, head of video sales, ninemsn. The Group has a number of current projects underway: a consumer survey on interactive video consumption; measurement of interactive video; best practice in video; a glossary of terms and definitions. "This is an important step forward for the digital industry in Australia," said John Butterworth, CEO of AIMIA. "Digital video consumption is growing exponentially and this offers a huge growth opportunity for many Australian businesses. Toby Hack, multichannel and digital broadcasting sales director for Nine Network Australia, said, "National standards are vital for ensuring consistency across the industry and each country needs to have its own set of content rights and standards in relation to video. In Australia this means everyone moving forward with the same guidelines to enable the sector to accelerate faster.
