In particular PlayStation 3 owners deciding to return to the adventures contained in the Uncharted: Drakes Fortune game, in anticipation of the release of the spectacular sequel have had some issues. In some cases the game froze after the V3.0 update, niggling yes, but not exactly system smashing in its isolation. But then there have been other worrying post V3.0 incidents. Owners, predominantly of third party manufactured PS3 controllers reported some strange happenings with the essential equipment, including controllers simply not usable after the system upgrade. Finally, there has been a very small smattering of PlayStation 3’s being ‘bricked’ after V3.0 firmware upgrade. With the release of V3.01 Sony has simply said : “Hi everyone, PS3 system software update 3.01 is now available for download. This is an optional update that improves system stability during use of some PlayStation 3 format software.” It is not the first time the PS3 has had possible issues with a firmware upgrade. V2.4 was yanked from the servers back in July due to similar stability issues. |
