Kingston Technology claims to be the first supplier to ship 2133MHz memory for overclocked Intel Core i5 systems.

Planning to overclock your shiny new Core i5 system? Kingston reckons it has the RAM you need.

The company is shipping a 2133MHz version of its 4GB dual-channel HyperX memory modules.

"Kingston has worked with our terrific partners including Intel, Asus, Gigabyte and MSI worldwide, to develop a series of memory kits that deliver top-notch performance on the some of the finest motherboards being launched this week," said Vaughan Nankivell, regional manager for Australia and New Zealand at Kingston Technology.

"While the 2133MHz modules are engineered for benchmarkers and overclockers, our recently released 1600MHz frequency is the perfect choice for mainstream users who want to build their own rigs with P55 motherboards and 1156-pin processors," he added.

Kingston's HyperX 4GB memory kits are currently shipping in 1333, 1600, 2000 and 2133MHz versions. 8GB 1333 and 1600MHz kits will be available later this month.

"We've seen great results from all of the Kingston memory especially the high-performance dual-channel kits," said Geof Findley, Intel's memory ecosystem manager.

"The combination of Kingston HyperX and Core i5 utilizing the Nehalem architecture brings unsurpassed performance for mainstream and enthusiast users," he added.

HyperX 4GB memory kit prices start at $A206 for 1333MHz parts, rising to $A672 for the 2133MHz version.
