The latest addition to the stable, LogMeIn Central, combines remote control, remote management (when used with LogMeIn Pro), and VPN connectivity. An unlimited number of computers can be used for a flat annual fee of $A376. A free trial is available. "With LogMeIn Central, it is now possible to have secure remote access and virtual networking across tens, hundreds or even thousands of computers with zero incremental cost—all in one product that is focused on making mobile and remote workers more productive," said Andrew Burton, vice president of consumer and SMB at LogMeIn. Remote access facilities include the ability to log in without re-entering passwords, and wake-on-LAN access to sleeping computers. Using LogMeIn Central in conjunction with LogMeIn Pro adds secure file transfer, remote to local printing, and other capabilities. The VPN features allow secure connections to central servers without necessarily providing access to the entire network. LogMeIn claims its approach combines the ease of SSL VPN with the connectivity of an IPsec VPN. |
