France Telecom’s Orange business communications provider has expanded its Australian and New Zealand  sales team with two new executive appointments.

Orange managing director for Australia and New Zealand, Tim Cavill, said today Elie Ishkan had been appointed to the position of global account director to target “complex international business opportunities,” and Chris Pappas had been appointed as business sales executive to lead “key customer accounts and driving new business development in the New South Wales region.”

Cavill said Ishkan will be based in Melbourne and report to Kevin Griffen, general manager – south, while Pappas, based in Sydney, will report to Geoff Smith, general manager – north.

According to Cavill, globalisation and consolidation of technologies has vastly increased the complexity of international business communications, and he said Orange was “recruiting the industry’s best to help us transform complex technologies into every day business tools for our multinational customers.”

Prior to joining Orange, Ishkan worked for three years with BT Global Services, and previously with Singtel Optus for over 12 years.

Pappas joins Orange with 15 years of experience in the technology sales sector, including with The Frame Group and Macquarie Telecom.
