News of the purported shortage is being taken as evidence that Apple's rumoured September 9 media event will see the arrival of new iPods. That's hardly a stretch given the company's history of announcing new iPods at this time of year ahead of the Christmas/holiday shopping season. It seems widely accepted that the next-gen iPods will feature cameras. Other mooted changes include increased storage capacities and - for the nano - the incorporation of a wider (or deeper, in the normal orientation) screen. If the arrival of new iPods at this time of year is considered ho-hum, there's still much 'will they, won't they' speculation about the debut of Apple's tablet. However, the consensus seems to be that a 2010 announcement is the most likely scenario. |
