The release date for Resident Evil:  The Darkside Chronicles has now been confirmed.  The next chapter in not-zombie blasting fun will be unleashed in November along with a bundled Zapper.

Capcom today confirmed some not-zombie (‘cos they are not so much dead as infected you see?)  zapping fun is slated for November 27th (at least in Europe)

Capcom say: “[The next chapter in the Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles] retraces the steps of Leon, Steve and Claire through the terrifying ordeals of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Code Veronica but does so from a whole new perspective.”

“A keen eye and a quick trigger finger are a must to stop the undead onslaught with success being rewarded by new insight into the Resident Evil universe and the dark secrets of its main protagonists. For those who want the ultimate arcade shooter experience Capcom has teamed up with Nintendo to deliver a Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles and Official Nintendo Zapper bundle pack*. This is the first time Nintendo has allowed a 3 rd party publisher to bundle a game with its Official Zapper in Europe”

iTWire had a chance earlier this month to try out this new Wii on-rails shooter and found it to be a gritty handy-cam perspective on horror survival.

We said:  “As the characters stumble through the night, the camera motion can be disorientating, with enemies suddenly looming large as both characters share the on screen action.”

We found the game to be forgiving to players fighting for line of sight, as the on-screen view bobbled realistically in the face of shuffling terror.  Maybe fans of "House of the Dead: Overkill" can look forward to a fresh batch of enemies to point their Wii-Zappers at.
