There are three products in the family. Trend Micro AntiVirus + AntiSpyware ($A39.95) is the basic package. Internet Security ($A99.95) adds spam and web protection. Internet Security Pro ($A129.95) also includes encryption and online backup, warns of suspicious links in emails and instant messages, and comes with a licence for Trend's Mobile Security package for Windows Mobile and Symbian. Internet Security and Internet Security Pro licences allow installation of the software on up to three PCs in one household. "Trend Micro Internet Security 2010 suite of products delivers comprehensive security that promises easy, fast and smart protection for consumers who are tired of cumbersome security packages. Compared to last year, our new products have a 20% reduction in installed file size and scan time," said David Peterson, Trend Micro consumer director for Australia and New Zealand. Peterson noted that according to Trend's research, almost 3.4 million computers were infected in Australia in July 2009. Features of the Internet Security 2010 range include parental controls, remote management of computers on the home LAN, automatically compensation for activities that shouldn't be interrupted (games, PowerPoint presentations, videos), an improved dashboard to show the state of the security functions, and the blocking of suspicious software on USB drives. Current users of Trend products get a free update to the new versions for the remainder of their licence period. |
