A bit of a no-brainer really, but it is official, Wii Sports Resort has proven popular.  The sequel to the largest selling game of all time tops out a sales list dominated by Nintendo.

Despite having a relatively low attach rate – that is, number of software titles per console, it seems there is plenty of Wii software leaving retail outlets.

In Australia, Nintendo have dominated the charts, with Wii Sports Resort sitting in the number one position.

According to GfK Retail and Technology Australia the independent market research group, Wii Sports Resort has notched up 100,000 sales during its four weeks on the market.

Much of this due to the Nintendo marketing genius of bundling the Wii MotionPlus control enhancer in the (slightly more expensive) deal.

The MotionPlus is an essential part of much of the Wii Sports Resort experience.  Games such as Table Tennis and even the revamped Bowling thrive on the extra control given by the device.

The most recent GfK figures for full priced games shows the public’s continuation with Wii software that includes bundled hardware.
