According to Canon Australia’s product manager software, Luke Maddison, a great deal of the demand for secure print software is from small business, and he claims the new software uses embedded MEAP (Multifunction Embedded Application Platform) technology to provide small businesses and workgroups control over user access to Canon multifunction print devices. “Nothing is printed until a user identifies themselves at the device, ensuring that important information is not left sitting on the output tray. And for convenience, multiple login methods are available. “Being ‘serverless’, the software requires no additional IT hardware to operate, everything is installed on the Canon device, with a small add-on to the driver on each client PC. uniFLOW SSP also includes ‘follow me’ printing, which enables users to print on any device in their fleet, regardless of where they’ve sent a print job to.” Maddison also says that, “importantly, the new software, which is part of the popular uniFLOW Output Manager series, has an easy upgrade path for users seeking further functionality, such as usage reporting and intuitive printing rules/routing.” “The launch of uniFLOW SSP reflects Canon’s ongoing commitment to business customers of all size, enabling them to innovate their office technology to drive maximum productivity, security and cost saving in the long-term.” |
