Sybase has made a new appointment in a move which the company says will underpin its targeting of government at the federal and state level in Australia.

The company has appointed Tammy Tang as a strategic account manager specifically for managing government relationships in Victoria and the ACT.  Tang will be based in Melbourne and the company says she will “accelerate growth in business areas such as data management, analytics and enterprise mobility.”

Sybase Australia and New Zealand managing director, Dereck Daymond, said Tang would draw on extensive experience working with government and in commercial sales as the company sought to strengthen its presence in the public sector.

“Tammy’s sales career in the IT industry spans more than 12 years working in both Asia and Australia supplying information technology solutions to government, education, small-medium enterprises and multinational organisations.

Daymond said that prior to Sybase, Tang was a senior account executive with Gartner focusing on Victorian Government accounts, and she had worked for four years with SAS in Victoria and Canberra.
