VoIP service provider Freshtel plans to extends its marketing relationship with Unwired. CEO, Michael Carew, told the company's AGM yesterday that the initial arrangement, announced in August, under which Unwired promotes the Freshtel VoIP service on its website and its in-store product packaging would evolve to "a more proactive co-marketing of the combined Unwired & Freshtel products online and in selected retail outlets. "Unwired now have over 36,000 wireless Internet subscribers," Carew said. "After successfully completing Phase 1 we are moving into Phase 2. This involves a more proactive co-marketing of the combined Unwired & Freshtel products online and in selected retail outlets." Under the initial arrangement Unwired's website points customers to the Freshtel site to download Freshtel's free VoIP software and they are also able to redeem a $10 call credit from the Unwired 'my account' section. However, Freshtel also said at that time that packaging on Unwired boxes in "select retail stores" would contain flyers and box stickers outlining the deal and that customers would be able to pay for the Freshtel service when they made their monthly payment for their Unwired service. |
