The Simplify home media streaming server now supports photos as well as music, and a new iPhone app enables users to view their photo collections remotely.

Simplify Media, the free server application, has always let you set up user group, give them permission to connect to your computer from other systems, and let them stream music from iTunes and other media players.

The Media software is available for the Mac, Windows, and Ubuntu.

The company also offered an iPhone Music client that enabled music streaming to the iPhone.

The new version of Simplify Media now supports photos as well.

Mac users of iPhoto can establish shares based on their iPhotos library, while all users can use folders to control which photos are shared.

The company also announced Simplify Photo, an iPhone client for streaming a photo collection to an iPhone. The client has an introductory price of US$.99; the existing music client costs $5.99.
