Looks like Microsoft is consolidating its gaming platform offerings with the rumoured demise of the Xbox 360 Pro model

Via gaming website Kotaku comes good evidence of a revamp in the Xbox 360 product line.

For a good period now the line up has consistently included three alternatives.  The Hard drive-less Arcade, the 60GB Xbox 360 (AKA Xbox 360 Pro) and the 120GB Hard Drive equipped Xbox 360 Elite.

This range of options, plus the ability to selectively choose other add-ons as required (eg. wireless connectivity) has always been a hallmark of the Microsoft platform.

But the rumour of this range consolidation has been building for some time, with some pundits believing the removal of the Pro machine will coincide with a price drop for the Elite model.

The packaging shot below (also via Kotaku) reveals the probably changes.  The older Arcade packaging on the left shows three Xbox 360 models, whilst the newer packaging shows only the two options.
