D-Link has launched "a complete VoIP solution for small business" comprising IP PABX, IP phone and analogue network gateway.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of news from Linksys which is shortly to launch an IP PABX for very small business (less than 16 lines).

The D-Link xStack IP telephony solution includes a SIP IP-PABX with conferencing server supporting up to 25 extensions (DVX-1000), the SIP Analogue Trunk Gateway (DVG-3004S) for connectivity to the PSTN and the IP Business Phone (DPH-140S).

The DVX-1000 SIP IP-PABX with Conferencing Server is claimed to offer "all of the essential telephony features required for small businesses, like call forwarding, call hold, find me-follow me, and voicemail." The small form factor dual processor unit supports up to 25 extensions. The conferencing bridge enables user initiated conference scheduling and invitation via a web-based configuration interface.

A built-in Web configuration tool allows administrators to assign each extension a feature profile that suits each individual's job function, and users can fine-tune their assigned profile via browser according to their preferences and work habits. The DVX-1000 uses MD5 SIP authentication encryption encoder software and an integrated firewall.

The DPH-140S IP phone is a speakerphone with LCD screen, 10 memory function keys and supports redial, mute, transfer, voicemail LED, 3-way calling, call waiting, call forwarding, and hold.

Prices for the IP PABX start at $US1599 with a five user licence in the US, the analogue gateway sells for $US699 and the phone for $US149.99. ITWire was unable to obtain Australian availability and pricing at press time.
