The international president of ISACA, Emil D’Angelo, said today that Lucas would also assume the role of trustee of the IT Governance Institute (ITGI), ISACA’s research affiliate established in 1998 to “help enterprise leaders ensure that IT supports the enterprise’s mission and goals.” “As ISACA embarks on a new strategy to further enhance the organization and continue its success and growth, the strong leadership and vision of leaders such as Ria are vital. “We have relied on her expertise as a valuable asset to the continued strength and accomplishments of ISACA and look forward to her future contributions.” D’Angelo said Lucas had experience in internal and external IT audit and had also worked in various capacities in the IT field. Lucas was a senior director of IT audit with the Australian National Audit Office before moving into audit and risk management in the telecommunications sector. Her current role at Telstra includes IT investment management and governance. A past president of the ISACA Melbourne Chapter, Lucas was previously chair on the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) technical education committee and the CISA certification board, was previously a member of ISACA’s finance and membership boards and is currently a member of ISACA’s audit committee. Lucas said today she looked forward to the opportunity to “help lead ISACA and ITGI in their mission, helping IT professionals to ensure that their enterprise risks are controlled, information is secure and value is realized from IT-related investments. “It is a pleasure to work with ISACA’s 86,000 constituents whose involvement and perspectives help ISACA continue to provide unmatched global certification, standards, training and research publications.” |
