iPhone app of the week: RunPee E-mail

RunPee requires a Wi-Fi connection, something potential buyers need to keep in mind as it make it incompatible with an iPod Touch, and the app may not function in cinemas with dodgy reception.

Worth noting, too, is that the app is American, meaning the list of films showing is American, and similarly the release dates listed are for our Yankee brothers. Hopefully a localized version is on the way.

Ironically, the scene for the recent Will Ferrell release “Land of the Lost” most appropriate for a toilet break is the scene in which, quote “Dr. Marshall pours urine all over himself.” It seems scenes are chosen on the basis that not much relevant action takes place, or the scene would simply remind users too much of their pressing needs.

For users without an iPhone, RunPee is a mobile version of the website runpee.com, which functions similarly but is obviously not as convenient. T-shirts, mugs and even water bottles are available from the site, although I suppose a water bottle would be just a tad too ironic.

RunPee is a novel idea and there's not much risk involved at its dirt cheap pricetag of $1.19. Despite its price, however, and its undisputed usefulness, if you’re finding yourself fumbling with your iPhone before a film and setting the app’s timer before it starts, perhaps you should just go. Your bladder will thank you.
