Based on Asian manufacturer orders and leaked iPod case designs, rumors have it that Apple might add iPhone-style video capabilities to the iPod Touch.Featured Whitepaper

Now, according to tech blog TechCrunch , the same capabilities may be coming to the iPod Touch, which has the same OS as the iPhone. TechCrunch cites "sources in Asia" as saying that Apple has ordered a huge number of camera modules--far more than it could expect to sell in iPhones. In fact, the order is so large that some are speculating that cameras might be added to lower-end iPods as well. Both rumors are lent support by images of iPod cases found by MacRumors.com . The site shows a case advertised by Uxsight as being for the iPod Touch, featuring "a hole for a camera on the back." There's also an iPod nano case shown from DealExreme with a hole in the back in a place the current nano doesn't have any controls. The case would fit the camera-equipped nano described by iLounge.com back in May. |
