Monday, 06 July 2009
Internode founder and managing director, Simon Hackett, is taking his new Tesla Roadster electric sportscar on the road in October as part of Internode’s involvement in the Global Green Challenge car race from Darwin to Adelaide.

Hackett announced today that he would take part in the challenge, as part of Internode’s partnership commitment to the event which showcases alternative energy vehicles.

The Global Green Challenge runs from Darwin to Adelaide between 24 and 30 October this year as part of the World Solar Challenge which showcases electric, hybrid, solar, low emission and alternative energy vehicles.

Hackett said today the synergies between Internode and the Global Green Challenge were obvious as “both organisations are committed to innovation and embracing environmentally responsible technologies.

According to Hackett, the Adelaide-based ISP’s is sponsorship of the Global Green Challenge is “just the latest demonstration of its corporate environmental responsibility.” And he says that last year, the company had achieved CO2-free status after undertaking a major greenhouse gas emission audit and purchasing the required offset carbon credits.

“Since September, Internode has used 100 per cent GreenPower, generated from sources such as wind and solar, throughout its entire operations.”
