HTC launches new Windows smartphones E-mail

Anthony Petts HTC's sales and marketing director for ANZ, said it would avoid the all too common occurrence when "You're on the phone to someone and you want to refer to an email you've sent them, and you hang up and call back after you've found the email."

People Centric Communication is also designed to facilitate setting up conference calls using the multiparty calling feature provided by network operators (Telstra's Next G support up to a five party call, plus the originator).

Contacts can be selected from the address book and a conference call initiated to them with one button. Once a call in progress individual participants can be put on hold and brought back in simply by touching their image on the screen.

The Touch Pro2 also acts as a conference phone which, according to Petts "is as good as Polycom" (the industry standard desktop conference phone). It supports full duplex communications via two inbuilt microphones and speaker and this mode is activated during a conference call simply by laying the unit face down.

According to Petts, these features have changed the way people work at HTC: enabling others to brought into a simple two way conversation on an as-needs basis.

Another feature of People Centric Communications is "push Internet": users can nominate to have their favourite web sites automatically updated at preset times so that they can view these instantly without waiting for them to download.
