Global outsourcer Computer Sciences Corporation has signed a two year extension deal with Alcoa World Alumina to continue to provide the companys computer technology infrastructure services. CSC has already supported Alcoas infrastructure operations for more than six years and under the IT operations and support services contract, worth up to $10 million, CSC will be responsible for the ongoing delivery of base services including site support, help desk support, change management, fleet management and security, for Comalco's head office in Booragoon as well as refineries in Western Australia (Wagerup, Pinjarra and Kwinana) and smelters in the Eastern States (at Point Henry in Geelong, Portland and Yennora). CSC also has a separate contract for the hosting of mainframe applications for Alcoa. CSCs Western Australian general manager, Murray Rosa, said the extension of the contract reflects the success of CSCs previous work with Alcoa. CSC and Alcoa have established a long-running and successful business partnership, Rosa said. This contract extension also affirms that CSC has the capabilities to not only support but completely manage this critical operation. |
