Able’s managing director, Trevor May, said the NT Parliament wanted a non intrusive biometric authentication solution as an added layer of security to complement the existing proximity card access control platform. May said the parliament’s director of security had been impressed by the demonstration of the Bioscrypt system at a security industry event and, he added, “we have received favourable feedback since the system was installed about both its speed and accuracy.” According to May, Bioscrypt is the only facial recognition system available in Australia with a “proven international track record in a variety of industries, from immigration authorities to banking and finance.” Able was contracted to supply the $80,000 system by Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions, who manage the NT Parliament building and provide electronic security for the parliament. |
