Enterprise cloud computing company, Salesforce.com has brought out an update to its CRM mobile application which it says is aimed at taking full advantage of the new iPhone 3.0 OS software.

Salesforce says that with its CRM Mobile, customers get “instant, anywhere access to data in their CRM app, as well as custom Force.com applications directly on their iPhone or iPod touch, including the ability to cut, paste and copy, clone records, create custom filters, and manage tasks using a new calendar interface.

Salesforce.com claims its mobile application is fast approaching 100,000 downloads, and that the company is “on pace to cross this threshold” next month.

And, according to the company, its CRM mobile drives productivity for field sales reps and mobile workers by delivering, amongst other benefits, instant access to customer information such as accounts, contacts and opportunities, point-and-click customisability, initiation of phone calls and emails from within CRM, secure data communication and remote device management, with all data stored on the device encrypted by Salesforce CRM, and custom or third party applications built natively on the Force.com cloud computing platform which be accessed using its CRM Mobile on the iPhone and iPod touch.
