After corrupting the Nintendo DS, RockStar Games turn their attention to bringing GTA: Chinatown Wars to the Sony PlayStation Portable.

iTWire was extremely impressed with how much content RockStar Games was able to cram into the Nintendo DS hardware with GTA: Chinatown Wars.

So returning to the Sony PlayStation platform, and the more powerful grunt of the PlayStation Portable our expectations have raised accordingly.

RockStar Games has announced that, come this [southern] spring, PSP and PSP Go owners will be able to immerse themselves in the story of Huang Lee as he untangles the web of his fathers mysterious death.

“We’re proud to extend this truly unique handheld Grand Theft Auto experience to PSP and offer a downloadable version of Chinatown Wars for PSP®go,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “Rockstar Leeds has shown incredible talent in creating games that raise the bar in terms of depth and innovation on portables, and with Chinatown Wars we have a rich, fast-paced, and incredibly addictive entry into the series.”

“Rockstar’s work with the GTA series has been an enormous part of the success of PlayStation platforms," said Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. “We’re excited to welcome the critically acclaimed Chinatown Wars to the outstanding line-up of great games headed to the PSP platform this spring.”

GTA: Chinatown Wars will be available both on UMD and digital download from the PlayStation Network.
