Fifty-six medical centers were ranked in 2009 by the U.S. News Media Group's study, but only ten were ranked in all specialties. Featured Whitepaper

These children’s hospitals are (in alphabetical order): • Children's Hospital Boston (Massachusetts) • Children's Hospital (Denver, Colorado) • Children's Hospital Los Angeles (California) • Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) • Children's Medical Center (Dallas, Texas)) • Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (Ohio) • Johns Hopkins Children's Center (Baltimore, Maryland) • New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital • St. Louis Children's Hospital-Washington University (Missouri) • Texas Children's Hospital (Houston) The specialties surveyed are: • Cancer • Diabetes/Endocrine Disorders • Digestive Disorders • Heart & Heart Surgery • Kidney Disorders • Neonatal Care • Neurology & Neurosurgery • Orthopedics • Respiratory Disorders • Urology The rankings used this year concerned the hospitals’ reputation, outcome and care-type measures such as nursing care, credentials, advanced technology, and other factors. The hospitals were also judged based opinions from pediatric specialists about the recommends they would make for the children in greatest need for medical assistance.
