An updated version of the Salesforce CRM Mobile app from Salesforce.com exploits the iPhone's newly acquired cut/copy/paste functionality and delivers several new features.

Salesforce.com was one of the earlier enterprise products for the iPhone, and the company is keeping up with the handset's development.

A new version, released today. supports cut, copy and paste, making it easy to transfer data from emails or SMSes into Salesforce CRM.

Other new features include record cloning (handy when creating a record for an additional contact at an existing client), custom filtering of any list,  and a date-indexed view with a calendar-like interface.

The update also handles lead conversion on a single form, and allows links from Salesforce CRM to a Yahoo! News page about the company concerned or to a custom Visualforce page showing related contacts.

Salesforce CRM Mobile, which also works on the iPod touch, is designed to provide any time, anywhere access to Salesforce CRM and custom Force.com applications.

The app is available free of charge to Salesforce.com Unlimited users through the App Store. Enterprise and Professional Edition users can either pay extra for the feature or use the less capable CRM Mobile Lite version.

Salesforce CRM Mobile is also available for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices.
