Quick update for Safari 4 E-mail

Apple's Safari 4 web browser for Mac OS X has received its first update just over a week after its initial release.
When iPhoto 09 (aka iPhoto 8) arrived, the Places feature was well received.

Places provides a mechanism to geolocate photos taken without location data. It uses Google Maps to allow the user to set the location manually.

Places then allows the selection of photos by location.

But following Safari 4.0's release, there were widespread reports of problems with the Places feature. Some users found the old trick of deleting iPhoto's preferences was a workaround, but it didn't help others.

Installing the new browser also broke Facebook uploading for at least some users, and there have been reports that deleting preferences also overcomes this problem.

Apple has now updated Safari to version 4.0.1: "This update addresses incompatibilities between Safari 4.0 and certain features in iPhoto '09, including Places and Facebook publishing."

In related news, Apple also released Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0, promising "bug fixes and better compatibility with the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard" on Macs using the Broadcom chipset.
