{mosloadposition peterACS chairman, Kumar Parakala, said the Bartlett had accepted the role of ACS patron at an event held in parliament house in Hobart today, and that the ACS was grateful that the Premier, by offering his services, had “acknowledged the significance of ICT to economic prosperity of Tasmania and the nation.”

“As the first state in Australia to commence the implementation of a fibre-to-the-premise broadband network, Tasmania will have a considerable impact on the success of Australia’s digital economy and set a blueprint for the rest of the nation.

“To leverage the infrastructure and build a flourishing digital economy continued communication amongst the state’s ICT professionals is necessary.”

The chairman of the ACS Tasmanian Board, Steven Cambridge, said that the Tasmanian Government support of the small business tax concessions would positively impact productivity, skills development and innovation gains within the predominately SME market.
