Japanese Kaguya seen crashing into Moon E-mail

The June 11, 2009 iTWire article “Asia, Australia may see Kaguya and Moon crash” provides additional information on the mission and its final goal.

Indian astronomers, while using a 1.2-meter telescope at Mount Abu Observatory in India, saw the Kaguya impact.

The impact was described as being seen at 1825 UT, but fading slightly a second later, with no observation possible thereafter. [Information courtesy of Spaceports]
