President Barack Obama achieved notoriety in BlackBerry-loving circles because he loved his handheld so much he insisted he continue to use it in office, despite past precedent that U.S. Presidents not compose e-mail. Yet, the National Security Agency may have been proven correct after a report by Fox News that the President’s BlackBerry has been hacked!Featured Whitepaper

Despite the Fox tag line this time around it’s a spoof. The President’s BlackBerry is safe from prying eyes. Instead, humourist Kasper Hauser has published a book through Hachette Book Group titled simply enough “Obama’s BlackBerry.” The work contains fictional e-mails to and from the President along with SMS text conversations and proves to be an entertaining read. Sadly, if iconic British TV series Yes Prime Minister taught us anything it is that the truth is likely to be surprisingly close to that which Hauser has imagined. Inside the 144 pages we find such gems as a poor Barack Obama being spammed by none other than the “Obama for America” campaign. “Thank you for your continued commitment to Barack Obama, Barack Obama” they say. Characters included are Ben Bernanke (Federal Reserve Chairman) in his quest to get someone to explain just what compound interest is while former President Bill Clinton has to resort to imaginative ways that he can tip Obama off to hot girls intoxicated by power. He ultimately chooses a subject line, “Your Middle East Policy Question” so he can get around the White House anti-spam filters. Meanwhile Joe Biden texts, “Can I leave at 4:45?” This book is a great read and might be the perfect gift for any hard to buy for BlackBerry lover in your life! The price is $US 10.97 from Amazon.Com. |
