Released on June 2nd, EA report that the PC/Mac version of the game has sold 1.4 million copies and that over 7 million pieces of content created by users have been downloaded. In a similar vein, according to Electronic Arts, the US$10 iPhone/iPod Touch app from Apple’s App Store has hit the top spot in paid applications. The Sims 3 is rocketing in sales, but still has some way to go to top the original release of The Sims which went on to sell over 100 million units worldwide. |
