Benjamin Button hits TiVo E-mail

TiVo owners will be able to watch on demand The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on the day of its release on DVD.
Said to be an Australian first for simultaneous on-demand/DVD release, Blockbuster's TiVo movies-on-demand service will feature The Curious Case of Benjamin Button from today (June 3).

Officials at TiVo licensee Hybrid Television Services point out that while movies-on-demand are available on other services (notably Foxtel HD), Blockbuster on TiVo is offered on a completely pay-as-you-view basis - no monthly subscription, and no commitment.

Given the size of the downloads, TiVo owners that use Internode, iPrimus or Adam Internet as their ISPs will benefit from fact that TiVo content is not metered by those providers.

The Blockbuster movie download service was piloted on TiVo last December, and went live in April.

New releases cost $A5.95, while "all time favourites" are $A3.95.
