Individual Google Wave documents are referred to as waves. Waves can be embedded in other web sites, and Wave APIs allow the creation of add-ons for Wave. Devnet, Australia's largest Google enterprise apps partner, has already announced that it is working to integrate Wave into its 'Cloud Ready' program. "Our recommendation is that organisations running legacy solutions like Microsoft Exchange or Sharepoint, seriously consider the potential impact that Google Wave may have before embarking on any significant upgrades of those technologies," said managing director Craig Deveson. "Devnet will aggressively push ahead! to develop Wave-based services so that businesses, ISPs and government organisations can take advantage of this great platform and incorporate local and regional features," he added. A developer preview of Google Wave has been released, and public availability is expected later this year. |
