Skype adds screen sharing E-mail

A new beta version of Skype for Windows adds screen sharing, as well as restoring some missed features from previous versions.

The 4.1 Windows beta enables a user to share their screen with one other person.

The feature only works in one direction, though--the two users can't see each other's screens at the same time.

In addition, Skype 4.1 restores birthday reminders and contact sharing, which were in version 3.x but missing from 4.0.

Users can drag-and-drop contacts from their contact list into the messaging screen to make them available to others.

In addition, the number of imported address books has been increased, to include such providers as Gmail and AOL.

The new version also offers help for visually impaired users via screen reading software, as well as supporting Microsoft Active Accessibility technology.
