Claiming to have a "source who is closely connected to Apple’s hardware development team," an iPhone enthusiast site has a list of reputed hardware specs for the next iPhone.

The release of the next-generation this summer has been expected for a while, and speculation about what it might feature has been rampant .

Based on what it believes to be a reliable source, the iPhone site AppleiPhoneApps.com offered the latest details. According to their info, the new iPhone will have:

  • • A 3.2 megapixel camera capable of recording video, together with video editing capabilities in built into the phone.
  • • A light-up Apple logo on the back that may double as a light for the video camera.
  • • An OLED screen, which will provide 1.5 times the battery life than the current LED screen.
  • • A built-in FM transmitter for unknown purpose.
  • • Multimedia Messaging Service capability for sending video.
  • • A digital compass that, in conjunction with the camera and GPS features, will enable the camera to know exactly what you're taking a picture of.

This will all supposedly come in a package with twice the RAM as the current model, 16 or 32 GB of storage, and a rubberized back.

And the cost is expected to be the same: US$199 and $299, as subsidized by the carrier.
