The system is expected to be able to analyze 6 GB of data per second, "the equivalent of all the Web pages on the Internet." And IBM has been working with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology to develop System S-based technology for monitoring critically ill premature babies. System S trial code, including developer tools, adapters, and testing software, is avaiable for free to potential customers. European customers can also draw on the resources of the new IBM European Stream Computing Center, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. IBM told iTWire that System S software will run on Blue Gene and System p. The current release will support x86 with RHEL. In the near future, the software will run on many platforms. |
