5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
Everything Linux sold an eclectic range of geeky goodness, from Linux CDs through to fluffy Tux toys and screwdriver sets. Additionally, ELX was Rumble’s consulting business, providing Linux support, training, systems administration and other services. A major experience early in Rumble’s career was at Corporate Express with Rumble claiming to have invented Australia’s first online fully ERP-integrated business-to-business (B2B) solution in the mid ‘90’s – and all based on Linux. Rumble’s business partner and friend, Grant Parnell, reported to the Sydney Linux Users Group (SLUG) mailing list that Anthony Rumble had died in a freak home accident on the night of Friday May 8th. Both Rumble and Parnell had been out for dinner that night and parted company about 9:30pm. Rumble took a shower after returning home and it appears he slipped and hit his head, resulting in a quick death. Parnell advises that a coroner’s report has not yet been returned. A memorial service will be held on Monday May 18th, at Macquarie Park Crematorium. The family will be distributing envelopes to guests to make donations to the Epilepsy Association of Australia rather than bring flowers. Rumble was born in Bega, a rural town best known for cheese production. An IBM representative would periodically fly in to perform maintenance on the accounting system at Rumble’s father’s radio station. The young Rumble was delighted by the amazing gadgets and gizmos this IBM man had and his love of all things tech began to develop. After a varying career ranging from running his own ISP to building online ordering systems, Rumble started his own company – ELX – expressing his desire to focus on what he does well. Anthony Rumble is survived by his eight-year old daughter, Abigail. |
