Australian specialist health IT services group, IBA Health, has selected a Verizon Business private IP solution for its global communications network connecting more than 4,000 employees in 22 offices across Australasia, the Middle East, South Africa, India, South East Asia and Europe.

IBA CIO, Martin Wilkinson, said today the fully managed solution would provide a secure and flexible foundation on which the company could build enhanced internal collaboration capabilities to improve its overall customer service.

“Verizon Business ticked all the boxes in terms of network capabilities and also was able to demonstrate a solid understanding of our business challenges and an ability to deliver solutions based on our objectives.

“As a company, we have exacting standards and service needs – and Verizon Business was able to answer these, backing its solutions with strong service-level agreements.”

Wilkinson said that, specifically, IBA was looking to consolidate its global communications with a single managed-service provider with the “global reach, network diversity and flexibility, managed service capabilities, experience, and expertise to support the company’s current communication needs, as well as provide a firm foundation for its future growth.”

Headquartered in Australia, IBA Health delivers healthcare-related IT solutions to connect providers, payers, patients and communities around the globe, and Wilkinson says that, with its business continuing to expand, the company wanted to enhance its overall communications capabilities to enhance internal collaboration, particularly in the application-development process.

According to Wilkinson, with Verizon Private IP in place, the company plans to deploy unified communications solutions, starting with IP telephony, but with the eventual aim of enabling “follow-me” presence-based IP-communications to enhance the timeliness and effectiveness of employee collaboration.
