Observers expect Amazon’s press conference scheduled for Wednesday in New York to see the introduction of a larger-size Kindle suitable for magazine and newspaper reading.

The press conference will be held at Pace University, site of the New York Times's nineteenth-century headquarters, and will reportedly feature an appearance by Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., the Times's publisher.

The new device is expected to have a screen size about as big as a standard sheet of paper.

Amazon is not the only manufacturer presumed to be interested in a larger-format e-reader.
