Fox Sports' new mobile web site - created by m.Net for the Premier Media Group - has gone live.
Premier Media Group operates the Fox Sports pay TV channels, along with Fuel TV and the How To Channel. It also delivers material via mobile phones and the web.

The Fox Sports mobile site provides ready access to sports news headlines, fixtures and live scores, with a 'tall and thin' format to suit mobile browsers. The omission of images from the home page reduces the amount of data transferred.

The format and light weight means the mobile site is also handy for keeping track of sports news on a desktop or notebook computer.

"It's quite a challenge taking the amount of live scoring and news data we have available and translating it into a mobile site," said Fox Sports chief operating officer, Jon Marquard.

m.Net got the gig after winning a competitive tender process.

The company previously developed Telstra's mobile site for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

"m.Net have shown their professionalism, commitment and flexibility in helping us deliver this content to the mobile sports fan," added Marquard.
