Neville Stevens said Professor Greenfield was one of the longest serving members of NICTA’s Board, after his appointment in November 2002. Dr Sargent chaired NICTA’s governance and remuneration committee during his tenure and Professor David Karpin served on NICTA’s audit and finance, and commercialisation committees. New board member Professor Glover took up the position of vice-chancellor for Charles Darwin University in February this year, having previously been deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Newcastle and having held positions at Curtin University of Technology and the University of Ballarat. He was also involved in the establishment of the WA Telecommunications Research Institute and the Institute for Multisensor Processing and Content Analysis. George Campbell served as a senator for New South Wales from 1997-2008, and was a member of the Economic Planning and Advisory Council from 1991-1994 and the Telecommunications Industry Development Board from 1991-1996. He was also parliamentary secretary to the Shadow Minister for Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism and to the Shadow Minister for Industry, Innovation, Science and Research. Prior to entering parliament, Campbell held various trade union positions between 1970 and 1997. |
