On June 8th, the Wii MotionPlus will hit U.S. store shelves at a US$19.99 price point. The Wii MotionPlus is a small block shaped peripheral that plugs into the bottom of the Wii-Mote controller, where the Nunchuck peripheral plugs in (a second Nunchuck port is located at the bottom of the MotionPlus. Through the magic of Nintendo engineering, the MotionPlus promises a more accurate on-screen experience, working will all existing games, and providing game developers a chance to enhance their Wii games accordingly. One of those developers is Nintendo themselves, who have also announced the sequel to Wii Sports, the most recognisable icon of the Wii console itself. Wii Sports Resort will, like its predecessor, present a bunch of sports orientated mini-games this time themed around a holiday resort. So we will be waggling in games such as Frisbee, Jet Ski racing, fencing and so on. In the U.S Wii Sports Resort will go on sale this July 26th for US$50, but importantly will include one MotionPlus adaptor in the boxed game. ![]() |
