BigPond takes Cup online to all broadband users E-mail

BigPond Sport will open up its live Melbourne Cup carnival coverage to all broadband users this year, provided they register on the BigPond site.

Normally available only to BigPond Broadband members, all users with broadband access will be able watch live streaming of The Victoria Derby, Melbourne Cup, Crown Oaks and Emirates Stakes.

All other Sydney and Victorian races from Saturday October 29 to Saturday, November 5  - over 100 individual races - will be available live or 'on demand' after the race depending on race day schedules.

To access BigPond’s coverage, fans with broadband access will need to register at www.bigpond.com/horseracing, which is of course a great marketing ploy to gather client prospects.

BigPond provided the first live online coverage of the Melbourne Cup last year as part of its live streaming and 'video-on-demand' trial of metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne racing.

BigPond managing director, Justin Milne, said, “our horseracing coverage trial was very successful, and following the huge broadband growth in Australia, we expect this year’s service to be even more popular.

“Melbourne Cup is the race that stops the nation and this year, if you can’t get out of the office or away from home, you can still catch all the exciting race action from your computer.”
