Chuffed enough to let everybody know how well it is going. “Accessory sales give us insight into how consumers purchase and use their consoles,” said Jeremy Hinton, Xbox Group Category Manager. “Recent sales of Xbox Hard Drives and LIVE Starter Packs show Aussies are spending time online with our social entertainment network and require more storage space for downloads such as games, music, demos and add-ons.” Last year alone, Australians downloaded more than 4.2 million items on Xbox LIVE. “The Xbox 360 is priced to give consumers different entry points. They can upgrade with accessories depending on their needs and most importantly, our online component, Xbox LIVE, ensures their experience is always current – regardless of when they purchased their hardware. Eventually, we’d like to see 100% of the Australian Xbox community tapping into our powerful online offering.” Hinton concluded. The cash-back offer has been running since March 16th. According to Microsoft: Customers will need to purchase Xbox 360 accessories between 16th March 2009 and 16th May 2009 to be eligible, and redeem the cash back by 5pm (Australian ESB time) on June 30th 2009. Up to AU$40 cash back can be redeemed on all Xbox official accessories, with a new wireless controller seemingly high on the Xbox 360 owners shopping list. Between March 16th and 22nd sales of the black wireless controller have increased 102 percent. Other official sales increases for the period include an 88 percent increase in Quick charge kits, 82 percent on 120GB Hard Drives, 77 percent on the Wireless racing wheel. The Messenger Kit say a 72 percent increase in sales and the 60GB LIVE starter pack gained 48 percent. Terms and conditions – as always – apply, but this looks like a perfect time to grab some bling for your console. |
