Australian listed IT services company CSG (ASX:CSV) is opening a new office  in South Australia following its selection for the South Australian Government’s Distributed Computing Support Services (DCSS) register of outsourcing contract providers.

CSG says the move will create job opportunities for IT workers in the region, with the company planning to grow the office in the Adelaide suburb of Norwood to more than100 employees in two years.

Brian Lee, group general manager of CSG’s managed services division, says the move to South Australia will save taxpayers money, with CSG “poised to provide superior services to government agencies at a reduced cost.”

Lee says the company will also be focusing on building its business in the South Australian private sector, an area it has been engaged in for some time with organisations such as BHP Billiton Olympic Dam and Mitsubishi Motors Australia.

According to Lee, aggressive growth is planned for the region using locally employed skills and resources wherever possible.

South Australian expatriate, Julie-Ann Kerin, who is CSG’s group general manager of the enterprise services division, said South Australia had always had a great pool of capable technical talent and the company was looking forward to utilising and providing opportunity for that talent.

Lee claims that CSG is one of the fastest growing Australian owned IT organisations and has posted positive revenue and growth figures despite the economic downturn unlike many of its direct competitors. In its half yearly results CSG reported a 36% increase in net profit after tax and a 45% increase in revenue.
