NASA celebrates Apollo's 40th Anniversary to Moon E-mail

With July 20, 2009 fast approaching, NASA announces it will be celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the first Moon landing by the Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins, and the entire Apollo Program by the United States of America.


NASA will highlight the entire Apollo program with moon trees, animated comics, historic videos, and other interesting features over the coming months.

According to the NASA media brief Celebrate Apollo: NASA commemorates the 40th anniversary, NASA is introducing "Celebrate Apollo: Exploring the Moon, Discovering Earth” as a way to celebrate the accomplishments of the Apollo Program and its benefits to humans all over the world.

For more information on the "Apollo40" Celebration, go to NASA’s new website “Apollo 40th Anniversary.”

NASA states the website and the celebration “… is an effort to engage the public and disseminate information about NASA's historic, current and future missions.”

The new website includes a special anniversary logo, downloadable videos, images, and events, along with an interactive feature about “Moon Trees.”
