Tesla Motors charges forward with Model S all-electric sedan E-mail

Currently, Tesla produces the Tesla Roadster (its first production car, which began production in March 2008), which uses a three-phase Tesla AC induction motor.

Its website states that it’s “pure electric,” goes “0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds,” has a “14,000 rpm redline,” gets “244 miles per charge,” and drives for “pennies per mile.”

The two-seater costs about $109,000.

In the future, Tesla hopes to build a third model, code named “BlueStar,” which is expected to cost around $30,000. The Model S is a bit pricey for the average American, but this BlueStar seems more in financial line with most U.S. drivers, especially if you are wanting to drive green around our highways and byways.
